RealPage is committed to providing our product and service users with clear and concise information regarding our privacy policies and practices. This Privacy Statement describes how RealPage and its subsidiary, Multifamily Internet Ventures, LLC, ("we," or "us") collect, use, and disclose certain personal data for our eRenterPlan insurance services (collectively "eRenterPlan"). By accessing our website or utilizing our eRenterPlan insurance services, you consent to the information collection and handling practices outlined in this statement.
eRenterPlan offers renters insurance policies underwritten by various insurance companies. These policies are sold by Multifamily Internet Ventures, LLC, a licensed insurance agency doing business as LeasingDesk Insurance Services. Prospective policyholders may obtain policy information and purchase coverage via both our website and our insurance agency call center. This Privacy Statement covers the information collection, use, and handling practices for the entire scope of eRenterPlan services, regardless of whether information is submitted via website or telephone. References to "eRenterPlan" encompass both the eRenterPlan product and the corresponding activities of RealPage and Multifamily Internet Ventures in offering and servicing the product. This Statement does not apply to the privacy or security practices of any third party.
eRenterPlan collects personal data necessary to issue and service our renters insurance policies. This personal data includes the following information:
- Contact Information: name, address, telephone number, and email address for the primary policyholder and additional occupants
- Personal Details: date of birth and driver's license/state-issued ID number
- Claims Information: Prior insurance claim history
- Financial Account Information: bank account information and credit card information
- Credentials and Authentication Information: user names, passwords, password hints and security questions
- Technical Information: IP address, device and hardware specifications, and web browser type
- Usage Data: logging data that tracks service access, usage, performance metrics, and error reports
The personal data collected by eRenterPlan is used for a variety of purposes, including:
- eRenterPlan policy processing, issuance, and servicing
- Integration with your apartment community leasing and rents software, including Interested Party cancellation and lapse notifications
- Processing of premium payments
- Distribution of communications and legally-required notices regarding the status of you eRenterPlan policy
- Integration with your apartment community online resident portal
- eRenterPlan product and website optimization
eRenterPlan may provide personal data to third-party service providers and vendors that perform tasks on our behalf to support the products and services described in this statement. eRenterPlan only shares your information to the extent reasonably necessary for the third party to perform the services on our behalf. We do not permit these third parties to use or disclose your personal information except for the purpose of providing the services we request of them. However, please note that RealPage does not maintain control over the privacy policies and practices of any third party companies, agents, or contractors.
In addition, if RealPage enters into any business transition, restructuring, merger, sale, or other transferring of assets, we reserve the right to transfer all eRenterPlan product and service information, including all personal data, as part of or in connection with the transaction.
Finally, we will access, transfer, disclose, and preserve personal data when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law or respond to valid requests by public authorities, including law enforcement, national security agencies, or other government entities
- Operate and maintain the security of our products and services
- Protect the rights and property of RealPage, including both intellectual property and physical systems infrastructure
- Permit a person with a beneficial or legal interest in a policy to protect that interest
When you access the eRenterPlan website, our servers may place small text files ("cookies") on your computer for recordkeeping purposes. Among other things, cookies enable us to gather information about your activity on our website for the purposes of improving your online experience, remembering your preferences and settings, and for other similar customization purposes.

Under our security policies and practices, access to personal data is authorized only for those who have a business need for such access. eRenterPlan strives to protect the personal data that we process; however, no security program is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee that our safeguards will prevent every unauthorized attempt to access, use, or disclose personal data. We maintain security incident response policies and procedures to handle incidents involving unauthorized access to personal data we process.
In the event your personal information is determined to be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate, you may access and update your information by logging into your eRenterPlan account or calling our insurance agency call center. If you require verification that your requested changes have been completed, and such verification is not readily displayed in your product or service account, you may request confirmation at the email address listed below (See "Contact Us").
eRenterPlan does not target children under the age of 13 for the collection of information online. Our product, services, and website are not designed to attract the attention of persons under the age of 13.
